Is a 75-inch TV too big for a bedroom?

A 75-inch TV is too big for a bedroom the vast majority of the time. You will instead want to go for a 65-inch TV.

Getting a bigger TV is tempting but most bedrooms do not have an optimal viewing distance for a 75 inch.

You will be too close to the big screen and it will cause you eye strain.

I instead recommend getting a 65-inch TV. One of the best TVs on the market for the price is the Samsung s90c. It is an OLED TV that has enhanced brightness and incredible contrast. It is probably the best OLED on the market for the price. However, if this is too much money for you there are better budget options out there.

A 75-inch TV is likely too Big for a Bedroom.

75-inch-qled-tv

If you have a small bedroom or live in an apartment, a 75-inch TV might be too big for the space.

It could take up too much room and make your bedroom feel cramped.

Your head might also be on a swivel if you are sitting too close to the screen.

A 75-inch TV can also produce a lot of light, and it can be overwhelming in a small room.

Consider the Viewing Distance needed

You need to consider the distance between your bed and the TV.

If you sit too close to a large TV, You might not be able to fully enjoy the picture quality as it can strain your eyes especially if you are watching movies on a 75-inch 4K TV.

So, if you have a smaller bedroom, you might need to sit further away from the TV to get the best viewing experience.

If you plan on having a 75-inch TV, then a plausible viewing distance can be between 9.4 and 15.6 feet.

A 65-inch TV Is more optimal for a bedroom

Generally speaking, bigger is better when it comes to TV sizes, as long as the room size allows for the recommended viewing distance.

However, most of the time for bedrooms, small living rooms, and small drawing rooms, a 65-inch TV is a better choice than a 75-inch TV.

The average bedroom size is around 12 feet x 11 feet (132 square feet), and a 65-inch TV is not too big for this size of the room.

As long as you place the TV on one wall and your bed or couch on the opposite side, you can comfortably watch your favorite series or movies.

The viewing distance is the most crucial factor when deciding on a TV size.

For a 65-inch TV, a plausible recommended viewing distance can be between 8.1 -13.5 feet away.

Therefore, you can comfortably watch your favorite shows without straining your eyes or feeling uncomfortable.

65-inch TV’s are also cheaper than 75-inch Displays, so there is an added benefit.

One of the better budget 65 inch TV’s out there is the Hi Sense 65U8K.

If I haven’t made myself clear before this point let me reiterate. For the vast majority of bedrooms, a 65-inch TV is going to be better than a 75-inch. So let me give you some recommendations.

The best 65-inch TV for the price that I know of is the Samsung S90C (affiliate link). It’s an impressive TV that delivers fantastic picture quality and looks amazing with any content. Its QD-OLED panel provides a perfect contrast ratio, and its colors are incredibly vibrant and realistic.

If you want the best possible home theater experience, the Sony XR-65A95L is a better choice.

While it uses a QD-OLED panel like the Samsung model, it has much better image processing, and its colors and brightness are more accurate overall, so it displays content the way its creator intended.

It also supports Dolby Vision HDR, a more widely used HDR format than Samsung’s HDR10+.

If you want a good home entertainment OLED but don’t want to get the expensive Sony A95L OLED, check out one of the best upper mid-range TVs, the LG C3. It’s a premium TV that delivers stunning picture quality, especially in dark rooms; thanks to its near-infinite contrast ratio, there’s no blooming around bright objects.

If you want something cheaper but still want high-end features and great performance, a mid-range TV like the Hisense 65U8K is an excellent choice. It delivers excellent performance that won’t disappoint. Its picture quality is great for various content as it has an incredibly high contrast ratio, helped by a great local dimming feature.
